Elden Ring: Bell Bearing Hunter (Warmaster's Shack) Boss Fight

Bell Bearing Hunter is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and can be found at the Warmaster’s Shack in Limgrave. Like most lesser bosses in Elden Ring, this one is optional in the sense that you don’t need to kill it to advance the story.

As you may know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

Bell Bearing Hunter is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and can be found at the Warmaster’s Shack in Limgrave. Like most lesser bosses in Elden Ring, this one is optional in the sense that you don’t need to kill it to advance the story.

This boss will only spawn at night and appear in place of the vendor that is usually there. As far as I could tell, it’s not enough to arrive at night, you must rest at the Site of Grace right next to the shack at night or until nightfall to get him to spawn, but I didn’t test this extensively.

I found the boss to be annoyingly difficult because he hits very very hard and if you try to keep your distance, his weapons will magically become flying and home in on your like bees on honey.

What worked best for me was to stay in melee and just keep the roll button handy, and if he does summon the flying magical weapons, just keep rolling and wait it out until he melees normally again. Using the weapon art on the turtle shield I could also block a lot of his damage, but that’s not something that can be kept up for long.

A slight cheese you can do to make the fight easier is to get a few free hits in right when he spawns and chip a bit off his health that way. He will appear to slowly walk out of the shadows and will not start attacking until he’s done walking, so you can lay some pain on him in the couple of seconds that takes.

When you manage to kill him, he will drop the Bone Peddler’s Bell Bearing. Handing this over to the two maiden husks at Roundtable Hold will unlock Thin Beast Bones and Hefty Beast Bones as purchasable items, which is very handy if you like to craft your own arrows and think enough innocent sheep have lost their lives for the cause already. Yeah, let’s not talk about where the maiden husks get an unlimited supply of bones from.

But don’t feel bad about the sheep. They respawn faster than you do ;-)
