The Erdtree Burial Watchdog in Stormfoot Catacombs is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is the end boss of the small Stormfoot Catacombs dungeon. It's a bit strange that it's called a watchdog, when it's clearly a cat ;-)

As you may know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

The Erdtree Burial Watchdog in Stormfoot Catacombs is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is the end boss of the small Stormfoot Catacombs dungeon. Apparently, you can find other versions of this boss in several other dungeons. I will get back to those in other videos as I get to them.

The first strange thing about this boss is that it's called a watchdog, when it's quite clearly a cat. Being the happy owner of two real life cats myself, I didn't really want to hurt it, but it turns out that this is a very bad kitty indeed, with fire in its tail and a grumpy attitude towards visitors.

It wears a cape, wields a sword and breathes fire as well, so this is apparently some sort of super-villain cat. It jumps up in the air and lands on you if you let it. And if you thought this was going to be light kitty paws that you barely feel, you would be wrong. This big cat appears to be made of stone, and it hurts a lot when it lands on you.

I'm not sure if it has two phases or if it's just me getting out of rhythm and screwing up. It feels like the fight is going great in the beginning, but suddenly everything goes wrong in the last third or so. It doesn't look like it gained new attacks, but perhaps the pacing changed a bit. Or more likely, it was just me messing up.

But no matter, I got the better of it in the end and there is no such thing as a bad win ;-)
